Print a Palooza!

I recently had the awesome opportunity to be a part of San Jose State Animation/Illustration’s charity event Print a Palooza! It is a Cartoon Network-themed art print fundraiser featuring original work by awesome students and alumni with characters from Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe! 100% of proceeds raised will be donated to Angels on Stage, a nonprofit organization that helps children with special needs develop independence and life skills through performing arts.

This is the piece I did of Mordecai and the Rigbys from Regular Show! You can buy this print and many other amazing pieces at http://printapalooza.storenvy.com/ ! Prints will only be for sale until April 24th, so buy some now before it’s too late!

Inktober 2

Better late than never, this last Inktober spread is one of my favorites of the month!
I was Tina Belcher for Halloween this year, so naturally day 31 had to be a drawing of her.

Inktober Part 1

I've been having a lot of fun doing the Inktober challenge this month! I've decided to do a couple big posts instead of daily ones. Here is the first half, days 1-16 - more coming soon!

This Side of Paradise

A friend of mine recently recommended that I read This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The characters were so fantastic I decided to work on designs for some of them, so here are some sketches of Amory Blaine and two of his lady loves, Rosalind and Eleanor! More on this to come!

Holden

I find that my list of books to read is always growing simply because I love re-reading old favorites too much. I'm currently revisiting The Catcher in the Rye, my absolute favorite.

"Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be. I know it's crazy."

Breaking Bad

Lately I've been reading James Gurney's Color and Light and watching a lot of Breaking Bad (I'm obsessed). As a result I've been seriously nerding out over the lighting in the show, and have been doing a lot of lighting studies! These are a few of my favorites, they've been super informative and fun!
